You're A Wolf
Iím walking Iím a southern stream
get to the river before I run too low

Iím walking Iím a southern stream
get to the river before I run too low

Old gypsy woman spoke to me
lips stained red from a bottle of wine

Old gypsy woman spoke to me
lips stained red from a bottle of wine

ďThe one that you are looking for,
youíre not going to find her here.Ē

Iím running Iím a northeast stream
get to the ocean before I run too low

Iím running Iím a northeast stream
get to the ocean before I run too low
get to the ocean before I run too low

ďThe one that you are looking for,
youíre not going to find her here.Ē

Old gypsy woman spoke to me
said, ďYouíre a wolf, boy.
Get out of this town,Ē

Old gypsy woman spoke to me
said, ďYouíre a wolf, boy.
Get out of this town,Ē

Youíre a wolf
Youíre a wolf
Youíre a wolf
Youíre a wolf

The Garden You Planted
Good morning Dear
I hope I didnít wake you too soon
because my mind is growing tired
of too much thinking what I should do
I picture you out there
It must be beautiful this time of year
all those East coast leaves
floating Ďround like embers
from burning trees
Well, the weather out here is just the same
but the garden that you planted
remains

Now itís only work
each day bleeding into the next
Barely scraping by
I tire myself out just so I can rest
But rest, it rarely comes
and when it does
I cannot go home
because itís much too quiet
It seems that Iím not suited to being alone
And everyone around meís changed
but the garden
that you planted
remains

I think about you
maybe more than I should
but the smog is getting old
and the drugs Iím taking arenít so good
So will you talk to me
even though youíve had a late night?
Because I need a little help
Baby, tell me Iíll be all right
Ďcause everything around meís changed
but the garden
that you planted
remains

I Made A Resolution
Well I woke up this morning
and I made a resolution
I said, ďIím never going to sing
another sad song again.Ē
I decided Iíd admit it
I am not an intellectual
No the words, they never come easy
unless Iím singing them
and the hills that I was born in
will never leave me
no matter how hard I try

And then my brother was murdered
while my father was in prison
and the girl that I sometimes loved
up and moved away
and my body filled up with blackness
and the darkness, it wanted to drown me
and I heard my fatherís footsteps catching up to me
and he took me by the shoulders
and he said, ďSon, my hands are strong
but I hope you have the strength to shake us free
Shake us free, boy
Shake us free, my son
Youíd better shake us free.Ē

And now Iím lying in a van
in Chicago in the springtime
and the rain outside thatís falling
sounds just like popcorn
But before I open my eyes
I think Iíll make this resolution
ĎNo, Iím never going to sing another
sad song for as long as I live!í
And the light coming through the window
is making everything glow
And he took me by the shoulders and he said
ďSon, I know my hands are strong
but I hope you have the strength
to shake us free
Shake us free
Shake us free
Shake us free, my son!Ē

I made a resolution
I made a resolution
I made a resolution
I made a resolution

Ses Monuments
We walk
We walk with folded hands
and weíre careful with our feet
We listen
We listen with open ears
and every word is a kiss
is a sigh
is a promise from beautiful lips

Now this is
This is the way were
but the rose no longer blooms
And weíve taken
what could be our final bow
and the applause we will get
when we get where we go
will be ours alone

And when
when I picture you
there upon your wall
forever in my view

Ahhh
Ses Monuments
Ahhh
All the places I will never go with you

Now think of
Think of the community
Weíll tell our friends weíre dead
And weíll be thankful
Thankful for all weíve learned
and Iíll be grateful for you
for your warmth
for the man youíve made of me

And when
when I picture you
there upon your wall
forever in my view

Ahhh
Ses Monuments
Ahhh
All the places I will never go with you

Is this what you really want?
I can tell by your voice
youíre not so sure
And I have to admit that I have my doubts
and sometimes Iím not so sure what this is all about
And I have to admit that I have my doubts
and sometimes Iím not so sure what this is all about

Ahhh
Ses Monuments
forever in my view
there upon your wall

I Don't Know If I'll Be Back This Time
Every time I come back home
I get this feeling Iím alone
Yet all the streets are all the same
and all my friends still know my name

I wonder when Iím at my door
Will this key work anymore?
Does someone else now live inside
and think the former tenant died?

I donít know if Iíll be back this time

Sometimes I wish that it were cold
and I had someone warm to hold
to watch the clouds move through the skies
to keep my feelings occupied

I never thought Iíd want to leave
I thought I had all that Iíd need
Yet my apartment feels so small
when I come home, and no oneís called

I donít know if Iíll be back this time
I donít know if Iíll be back
this time I might just stay here with you
